Play. Creativity. Connection.
Too much screen time is messing with what it means to be a kid, so we’re flipping the script. Inspired by ideas in The Anxious Generation, this campaign is all about helping each other trade scrolls for soccer, group chats for real chats, and notifications for imagination.
Our mission is to help the next generation rediscover the joy of active play, creativity, and face-to-face connection. We want to turn screen time into real time, with more laughing, moving, imagining, and making actual memories.
Dozens of community groups, including the Peninsula School District, local churches, PenMet and KeyPen Parks, the YMCA and many others are teaming up to launch a community campaign that will officially launch on October 10 (World Mental Health Day) designed to help kids discover the joy of real-world connection — through play, creativity, and community. Your donation supports a grassroots campaign to reduce excessive screen time and inspire meaningful face-to-face relationships.
Contributions are processed securely through the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, ensuring your gift makes a lasting local impact. Together, we can change the story of growing up — one kid, one idea, one joyful moment at a time.
